News: Melbourne, Sydney hottest Aussie property investment spots
Both Melbourne and Sydney are locations with the best property investment opportunities in Australia, says John Lindeman, professional real estate researcher.
"Melbourne's property market on average experiences close to nine percent growth per year from transactions within the housing market, while Sydney's market- also stable and strong- bases its growth on (apartment or flat) units market," informed Lindeman.
The property expert, who spoke to prospective Malaysian investors at a seminar entitled ‘Secrets to growing your wealth through Australian properties in any economy' last weekend in Kuala Lumpur, revealed 80 percent of Australian dwellings in 2011 were located in urban areas.
Lindeman disclosed to the seminar's attendees, "The Australian housing market will never crash because three quarters of it is made up of full ownership.
"Anyone is entitled to buy or sell property in Australia. While foreigners must buy new or off-the-plan property, there is no restriction on where this property has to be, how much it is or how many properties foreigners can purchase."
He added that typically, buyers and sellers of property in Australia usually engage with real estate agents to coordinate purchases or sales.
Property in Australia holds either of the two following titles: the Torrens title, which is defined as land inclusive of everything on it, and the strata title, which would be the owner's piece of the improvement (i.e. the residential unit) and entitles you to shared use of common facilities available in the property, such as in the case of apartment or flats.
Having penned the best-selling book ‘Mastering the Australian housing market' in 2010, Lindeman is an acclaimed researcher of the Australian property market and is highly regarded as an authoritative voice in said-field's analyses.
